About Toadstool Designs...

Toadstool Designs is a small independant card company located in St. Louis, Missouri, It was founded in 1996 by Maili Poag, who also created the artwork. The cards are marketed wholesale locally and nationally to small gift shops offering a selection of unique and handmade products. Despite the crowded competition of the greeting card market, the Toadstool Designs card line has received notice from store owners and customers alike for the distinct and memorable quality of the images.

About Maili...

Maili has been living in St. Louis, Missouri for about 30 years. Her interest in animals led her to a summer job at St. Louis Zoo during high school and college where she enjoyed working as a part time animal keeper for 6 years. She has a Fine Art degree from Washington University in St. Louis and a Commercial Art degree from St. Louis Community College. When time and her demanding young nephew allows, she likes to spend long hours at the drawing table designing her creations.

A Few Words About Cats from Maili...

"People are surprised to hear that I have never owned a cat myself. I fear that my reclusive workaholic tendencies would make it difficult to fulfill the emotional commitment of cat ownership. However I do have many friends who are cat people who are forever offering their cat's services as model or inspiration for a new card. I have been making good on my promise to include more dog art in my new unpublished work, as requested by the growing number of dog people who buy my cards.
